Before I dive into the patch notes, a polite reminder that Realms Restored 3.0 is out. With that comes RR No Alphabets patch that massively improves the visuals of No Alphabets NPCs. Ty @Silver & @loregamer!

Vanilla No Alphabets
Realms Restored Patch

General

  1. Lunkbug (G) is now a female deep gnome and says "I'm your wife, it's my job". Thank you @Lancaster for the voice!
  2. No more "They" (T) in combat text. "They" rolled will now say "[Subject] rolled".
  3. Nocturne (T) talks about his self-improvement instead of sex change:
    • That's not who I am now → I'm a better man now
    • They were attacking who you were → They were attacking your faith
    • I wasn't happy with who I was → I wasn't happy with how I was
  4. Z'rell will no longer do telepathic kiss-touch nonsense on you when the ogre is dead.
  5. Aelen (non-prisoner version) is no longer dirty.
  6. Aelen's eyes now glow correctly during magical boy transformation, etc.

Bugs and Oversights

  1. Soul Cage Animation Bug where the hand grab his legs: This is a save game issue where the soul cage expects a female strong body. Starting a new game or loading a new game before entering Act 2 (or perhaps the shadowfell) should fix the issue.
  2. Aelen's soul cage portrait now shows his correct male self.
  3. 12 voiced lines and 4 unvoiced player lines altered for correct pronouns. Thanks for your bug reports!
  4. Found fix to Aylin's girly screaming issue when you let Balthazar take him (See Voice Overhauls section).

No Alphabets - NocturneDe***s

  1. This patch lets you reverse the contents of Nocturne's diary to pre version 3.0. This is the one where he decides to rightly accept himself as the man he was born as.

Voice Overhauls

It's been 2+ years since NA came out. It's about time I upgraded my voice AI tools. With that comes massive upgrades to legacy voice swaps.

  1. 193 Sir Aelen voice lines upgraded
    • Emotionless voice issues fixed
    • Hoarse shouts/screams now sounds manly
    • Far more anger/annoyance when speaking about Lorroakan/Ketheric
  2. Sir Aelen no longer screams like a little girl.
  3. Sir Aelen's SFX redone to remove brokenness and tinniness.
  4. Lucretious' voice has been redone but with the same voice.
  5. Lucretious is now very high quality and no longer sounds tinny.
  6. Nocturne now has a completely new deep voice. His faggy voice should sound posh rather than just plain ***y.
  7. Sebastian has been completely redone with the same voice. The poor conversion of crying/breathy/whininess has been fixed.
  8. Some of the earliest changed NPCs with crappy voices have been replaced to remove tininess:
    • Hunkers Boolean
    • Kali Hammerhand
    • Fuschia Vineshoot
    • Ploughmann Zakk
    • Hunkers Boolean

We've finally released Realms Restored — the spiritual successor of BBA and SO MUCH MORE!
This patch makes sure NA is fully compatible and also includes a few fixes and oversights.

TL;DR: Realms Restored restores white NPCs, pale elves, gender specific hairs, removes excessive midgetry, etc etc. GO GET IT!

Lingo

  • Ser Aelen is now Sir Aelen
  • Lots of missed Aylen lines and typos, reported by @Tipfy (tyvm!)
  • Nocturne related text changed apparently wasn't working, fixed that.

Dialog Table

  • Snipped out some Nocturne dialogue that sounded too much like *** dead naming. (thanks @Demonic Fate for the suggestion)

Aesthetics & AylinBeard

  • Realms Restored Compatibility Patch + better adherence to Toolkit conventions

To do: dub 2 voice lines and cross my fingers that this is the final_final_final_FINAL_FINAL version of No Alphabets.

Improvements

  1. Name change:
    • Ser Aylin --> Ser Aelen
    • Hunkers Boolean --> Hannah Binary --> Hannah Binn
    • Farmhand Zakk --> Farmhand Zayn --> Midwife Madalena
    • Zerillo --> Zerelda
    • Ch'kk'ch --> Chadwick
  2. Shimmer, the unconscious drunk dancer no longer has bright blue hair.
  3. Nocturne is now a red skinned tiefling, and all traces of purple has been removed.
  4. Any NPC gender swapped to women now wear a dress instead of men's clothes.
  5. Changed Aelen's greeting to: "Come to bask in the grace of the moon maiden's light?"
  6. SFX - All gender changed NPCs now have correct sound effect. So you can go on a killing spree without worrying about hearing a women's voice coming out of a man
  7. Naiose: calling Jara handsome sounds more seductive. Shoutout to @Lancaster for the first version, which was created with blood sweat and tears with him recording himself saying "more than handsome" for the umpteenth time and getting weird looks from his wife :lol:. Alas even his gender bent voice was too manly for the scene.

Shoehorned Politics

  1. You can no longer call Astarion a racist in the Gur convo. You say he's "swift to cast judgement" instead.
  2. Naoise no longer lectures you about bestiality being normal, instead she'll acknowledge that she's a whore, to whom degeneracy is bread and butter.
  3. Theda Grosz no longer tells you how liberating it is to be unshaved.

LGTVHDMI

  1. Naoise the brothel whore(L) now correctly refers to Jara as a man.
  2. Vilmina (L) and Norya Baker (L) carry love letters from their male lovers instead of each other.
  3. Tuloria (L) is now a male noble called Tulor.
  4. Karlach (L) now mentions her foray with a halfling man instead of a woman.
  5. Astarion (G) talks about wanting a pretty virgin instead of a handsome virgin.
  6. Astarion (B) tells you he's bedded thousands of women, instead of thousands of people.
  7. Gardener Fillip (G) the gay gnome is now a human woman called Seamstress Filippa.
  8. Ansur (G) explicitly tells you about his brotherly bond with Baldurian, instead of sounding disgustingly gay.
  9. Chorizo (G): only female PCs can tell Chorizo that she can show him a better time than his wife.
  10. Reklan(G) a guard in Cazador's palace no longer mention a husband.
  11. Sir Gorran Penghyst's (G) wife is now mentioned upon his death, instead of a husband.
  12. Fist Clover (B) is now a man. And only flirts with female players/ companions.
  13. Theda Grosz (B) no longer chats about her attraction to female Fists.
  14. Fast Neddio (B) the gay black man chatting about hot Fists, is now a white woman called Nadia.
  15. Halsin (B) can no longer be prompted to tell you about his bisexual rape enjoyment with a drow couple.
  16. Z'rell (B) - all sex-related talk with Z'rell has been removed. Exception: her sexual delight in killing the ogre.
  17. Sloncha Owena (B), on a date with her boyfriend, no longer mentions potential for a threesome.
  18. The word Saer (T) - Unvoiced lines using the word Saer, changed to Sir / Madam.
  19. Gilla Merrun (Q+) No longer talks about her infatuation with the drag queen Lucretious
  20. Silfy (?) the little bald Tiefling girl now has a feminine hairstyle.

Oversights & Bug fixes

  1. Game no longer crashes when Aelen flies off from the prison area.
  2. Fist Jara (L) now has a male voice to match his new appearance. credits: @Lancaster
  3. Fixed 12 voiced and 10 unvoiced lines related to Aylin
  4. Fixed 2 lines related to Nocturne
  5. Fixed 2 lines related to the Hag Watch
  6. Removed Duplicates from localization file.
  7. Aelen now has a beard in prison whether you installed the beard mod or not.

How to get rid of Ser Aelin's Beard

  1. Diagnosed issue with Aelin always having a beard. It's an override, so delete the Beard mod from your Mod Manager and make sure its not in your Mods folder if you want to get rid of the beard.

De***ing

  1. Fist Jara in the brothel is now a man. Thank you @Makirige for the visual changes. and @Lancaster for the voice changes.

Compatibility

  1. Lingo File no longer overwrites every line in-game.
  2. Translators can now use the same structure to only change specific lines!
  3. With this update the [PAK]Lingo and hacky loose file Lingo files will be completely obsolete. Click on the "INSTALL" Tab to see how to uninstall the loose Lingo file, if confused.
  4. Finished updating Aesthetics mod.
  5. Portraits have been generated using Modding Toolkit for 22 NPCs that need them! No more screenshotted portraits yay!
  6. Bearded Aelen now gets a beard in his portrait.
  7. You can now drop Bearded Aelen in a mod manager or mods folder without worrying about priority.
  8. NoAlphabetsVoice is no longer an override. File size has been drastically reduced because compression is now possible.
  9. Voice, Lingo, Aesthetics & CCreator is now fully compatible with Larian's Mod Manager. Thank you @loregamer for the CCreator Update.

Hag Watch

  1. Hag Survivors have been renamed to Hag Watch.
  2. All mentions of support group and "feelings" have been scrubbed out.
  3. This is now an organisation focused on revenge and keeping an eye on would be hags.
  4. Fourteen lines changes so far

Squatter/Merchant Conflict

  1. Squatters are no longer referred to as a refugee.
  2. You can no longer ask the merchant to let the squatter into his home because he has a big house.
  3. You can now suggest the merchant hire the squatters as servants.
  4. You can now Attack. the squatter directly in conversation. But this will break your oath.
  5. Intimidating or persuading the squatter will NO longer break your oath.
  6. Dialog has been heavily revamped to condemn trespass and coveting private property.
  7. There is a new persuasion option for good Tavs.
  8. Twenty lines changed
  9. Four original lines added. Note to Translators: You will not find the handles for these in your .loca file. Add it manually.

  • Lingo mod consist only of changed lines. Drawback is that it is now loose files that must be placed in the Data Folder. Default version sets language to English and adds NoAlphabetsLingo as a "new language"
  • Fixed 7 voice lines for Aylin, 2 Voicelines for Sebastian
  • Fixed a bunch of typos in Lingo file.

  • Say Hello to SER AYLIN!
  • His portraits and body reflect this.
  • His voice lines (700+ lines) and that of 29 NPCs (162 lines) have been changed to maintain immersion!
  • The Bearded Aylin mod lets you keep Aylin's beard permanently! It needs to load after Aesthetics i.e. lower down on list to work.
  • The CCreator mod component lets you remove they pronouns and trans icon from character creator.
  • Shimmer is now a woman in looks, and in flavour text. I have not been able to find him yet, so I don't know what his voice lines are.
