Katherine was a mother and a wife, but her family was killed, and those who killed them did unspeakable things to her: now she's a grief-stricken woman hell-belt on vengeance. While Katherine will still use her sexuality, this mod removes or tones down the overt sexual banter between Katherine and Henry. In other words, this mod effectively removes Katherine as a romance option, and allows for their relationship to be one of only friendship and camaraderie.
Key Changes:
- Dialogue choices (UI) rewritten to change the context of associated dialogue.
- Henry cannot proposition Katherine in front of Zizka and Pisek upon arriving at Suchdol.
- Banter mostly de-sexualized during "Into the Underworld".
- Bath scene dialogue reworked during "Lion's Den".
- Henry no longer talks about Katherine (as if he's in love) to other people.
- Some dialogue normally locked behind romance option is unlocked and reworked to fit mod.
- New dialogue when saying goodbye during "Hunger & Despair" (pre-req Kate family convo).
- Henry and Katherine are never physically intimate.
Warning: new dialogue contains explicit references to sexual violence ("Hunger & Despair").
Compatibility: All files are non-PTF edits of dialogue/quest files and are therefore incompatible with any other mods that also edit the same files.
Installation: Unzip and place mod folder in C:\ ... \KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods.
Notes
- Far beyond any other romance option, Katherine is more or less assumed by the game to be the player's romance choice. In most cases, this would be correct; however, for players who do not want to romance Katherine, the ambient dialogue and NPC responses (that assume Katherine is romanced) can be immersion-breaking. Though I made great effort to remove these, it's possible I missed a few lines. Therefore, if you notice any dialogue I overlooked, please feel free to mention them in the comments.
- Dialogue Choice edits (UI) only support English localization; therefore, if you play the game in another localization, these edits will NOT show.
